On pronunciations and fluffy black cats.

SteohCoathupe-HELLO.jpg

Hello!

My name is Steph Coathupe and I like to draw things.
I think it's a good idea to start this blog off with some introductions and frequently asked questions, so here we go!

Wait, Steph Coat-whatnow?

Coathupe, pronounced "Coat" "up".

As in: "Hang your coat up, Coathupe!"

Who (or what) is Noodle?

This is Noodle.

He was found hiding under the rabbit hutches of Tim's back garden. No one claimed him, so Tim asked Joss who asked Abi who asked me if I wanted a fluffy black cat (OF COURSE!).

He is two years old and his interests include:
Shouting
Bouncyballs
Waking us up at 3am jumping from the bookcase onto the bed

He's deathly afraid of the toilet flushing and I love him more than anything in the world.

Where did you learn to draw things?

I watched a lot of Art Attack when I was little.

Also, I graduated from Manchester School of Art with a degree in Illustration with Animation.
Here are some of the lovely people I met there:

Vic Cooper
Abi Woodhouse
Beth Thompson (Go check out Counterpoint!)
Hannah Pillai
Charlotte Cotterill
Bridget Collin
Becca Hall
Bethany White
Emily Tilzey
Huw David Jones

What else do you do?

I read lots of books, loiter in Waterstones for longer than is probably allowed, spend far too much time procrastinating on twitter, and accidentally kill any houseplant that enters my home.

R.I.P. Carrot (2012-2016).
Gone but never forgotten.
